You can play a role in connecting Canadians through our shared past.
Ways to Support Canada’s History
Discover Canadian history as you’ve never seen it before. What began in 1920 as The Beaver, a journal for employees of the Hudson’s Bay Company, is now Canada’s History magazine — an award-winning publication published six times a year.
Enthusiastically read by thousands of Canadians, Canada’s History is a treasure trove of Canadian stories waiting to be discovered. Your subscription includes membership in Canada’s History Society, with member benefits such as special gift subscription pricing, free e-newsletters, and more!
As a registered charity, Canada’s History is strengthened and sustained through charitable gifts of every size. We depend on the generosity of donors like you to help us share our diverse stories with more Canadians. Please consider making a one-time gift or pledging an ongoing monthly or annual contribution.
You can donate online using your credit card right now.
Cheque or Money Order
If you would prefer to pay by cheque or money order you may print off our Donation Reply Card, fill it out and send it in, along with your donation to:
PO Box 118, Station Main
Donate by Phone
If you have any questions about donating, or if you’d like to arrange your gift over the phone, please call us at 1.888.816.0997.
For some people, donating publicly listed securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual fund units is a convenient, tax-effective way to make a charitable gift. You will receive a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of your donation.
Please talk to your tax or wealth advisor to determine if donating securities is right for you. To make a gift, simply complete and send our easy-to-use Securities Transfer Form.
Endowment and Major Gift Donations
Canada’s History is honoured to receive major donations from Canadian individuals, businesses, foundations, and families. Gifts to our annual fund are essential for ensuring Canada’s History continues delivering the publications, diverse stories, and online resources Canadians depend on.
Contributions to the Canada’s History Endowment Fund are securely invested and managed. The fund’s capital is kept intact and earned revenue is funneled directly into our educational and youth programs, magazines and special publications, and national awards programs.
Planned Legacy Giving
Planned gifts to Canada’s History provide sustaining support for our important work in making Canada’s past relevant, engaging, and accessible for all Canadians. Your legacy gift will help ensure the stories we tell of Canada and the programs we offer will reach new audiences for generations to come.
