The Beaver Fur Trade

The Beaver Fur Trade was lasted almost 250 years.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Interesting but sad, 200,000 beavers died yearly, about 40-60 million beavers were killed in total.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

The Beaver Fur Trade killed so many beavers, and so many died. Beaver population was near extinct during the Fur Trade Era (1600s-1800s). The lesson is that we should not over hunt any animal, because every animal has its job in nature.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

The people who were in the Fur Trade were dangerous, because different companies were at war during 1630-1701, known as the Beaver Wars.
