In 2018, Canadians are commemorating the 100th anniversary of “Canada’s Hundred Days” — the string of great battlefield successes by our soldiers in the closing three months of the First World War. This Remembrance Day will also mark the centennial of the Armistice that finally ended the bloody conflict on November 11, 1918.

In the weeks leading up to this anniversary, many Canadians will remember and honour those who served our country, as well as those who serve in uniform today.

Veterans Affairs Canada offers a wide variety of free, bilingual learning resources to help educators teach young people about the importance of remembrance and our country’s proud military history.

Check out their popular suite of Veterans’ Week learning materials. The new 2018 editions are available online or can be ordered and delivered to your classroom for free!

As well, explore their resources on Canada’s Hundred Days and the Armistice. They have a wealth of historical information and new lesson plans about this important chapter in Canada’s heritage.
