What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Hard work and dedication can get you far!

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

The Paris Crew got involved with rowing because it was a common pastime for people of Saint John, because so many of them worked on the water.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Things were much harder then. The rowers didn’t have access to good equipment, like athletes do today. It took them a long time to travel to their races, so they would be away from their families for long periods of time. Athletes today make sacrifices for their sport, but it seemed a lot harder in the old days.
