The Unwanted Warriors

The project reveals the untold story of Chinese Canadian's participation in WWII through the British led secret operation (S.O.E) and how their dedication and sacrifice helped Chinese community won the voting right.

 

 

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Despite the racial discrimination that these Chinese Canadian soldiers faced, they still presented commitment and courage to help the country at WWII.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

It is an important history that less familiar to most Canadians, including Chinese Canadian community, it is essential to remember the dedication and contribution of these unwanted warriors and how their courage changed Canada's history.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

We are living in a much improved and equal society now however it is very important we do not forget the dark chapters in the history of the country.
