Bops

My project is about my Great Grandfather, Bops, who served in WWII with the Canadian Army 8th Recce Regiment. My project describes his life before, during, and after WWII. His daring adventures behind enemy lines makes him one of my favorite Canadian heroes.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing I learned is that anybody can be a hero and fight for their country.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I learned that it is important to remember our Canadian veterans and to honour their legacy by retelling their stories.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

It is hard to imagine all the sacrifices my Great Grandfather had to make in his life compared to the carefree life that I have now. As Canadians, we all need to be thankful for the lives that our veterans have fought for us.
