Ginger Goodwin

This project explores Goodwin's roles as a labour activist and a conscription fighter in his life and legacy, and how they impact canada today.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Something I found interesting was Goodwin's gravestone. The maker was unknown, but he put the wrong death date on it. I also found it interesting that he put a communist symbol on the gravestone eve though Goodwin was a socialist.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

After doing this project, I think two important lessons I learned were to never take my rights for granted and to fight against something I believe is unfair or wrong.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Some of the rights we take for granted today weren't always there. People like Ginger Goodwin died so we could live easier and safer lives.
