What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

One of the most interesting things I learned was, how many countries my ancestors took residence in. There where so many that I had to find the main ones because I didn't have room for all of them on my project. I also learned that my family is originally Dutch.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I learned how important it is to learn about your family. You think you know all you need to about them, but most likely you don't. Family is such an important part of life. I highly recommended that you try to learn a little.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My current life compared to my ancestors is a walk in the park. They had it tough, they were the ones who fought and sacrificed so much. So we could be living the lives we are today. They survived through wars, plagues, and so much more.
