Calgary Tower

The Calgary Tower is a 191 meter free-standing observation tower in Calgary. It was built to celebrate Canada's Centennial in 1967, it was also built to renew the downtown part of Calgary.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting fact that I learned about the tower is that they added the fire tothe torch and the lights at a separate year. They added the fire on 1988 for olympics. And they added the lights just on 2014.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I learned that the Calgary Tower was built in thought of Canada's Centennial in 1967. Also that they light up the torch at the top of the tower to honour the olympics and special events that has to do with Canada's history. The tower is a part of a club called "World Federation of Great Towers featuring more amazing towers.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

The ones that built the tower must be hard workers, building the tower is really hard. So if I'm gonna compare my life to their lives it would be very hard. They've completed a very hard challenge, I would say that I couldn't do a very hard challenge like that.
