Joeseph Ladue Founder of Dawson City
Joeseph Ladue was founder of Dawson City. He named it after a Canadian geologist George Mercer Dawson. He also participated as one of the first prospecters in the Yukon Gold Rush.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
I did not know that Dawson City was named after a Canadian Geologist, and that Dawson city used to be the capital of the Yukon but now it's Whitehorse.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
I want to share that our history of the Yukon and history all over Canada should be shared and told to other people so they can learn about our history.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
My life in the modern life is very different compared to the 1800-1900s because people back then didn't have technology to communicate with other people.
