Laura Berton: I Married The Klondike
My film is about Laura Beatrice Berton. She moved to the Yukon as a young lady to become a teacher.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
I actually never knew much about Laura so everything is new information for me. I really think everything I learned was interesting.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
How things that might scare may have a positive outcome.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
In the time era of my film everyone was leaving the Yukon and thought of it as a rough town. Now people see the Yukon as a beautiful place. Also people were moving here ONLY for jobs, now people are moving here and touring through here because of it's beauty and all of the fun things you can do.
