My project is about a man named Robert Campbell. Campbell worked for the Hudson Bay Company's fur trade. He set up a trading post in Fort Selkirk. After that, the Chilkats burned down the post.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
Fort Selkirk started when Campbell opened his post there.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
When the Chilkats burned down Campbell's post he never gave up, he hiked all the way to Montreal to ask to open a new trading post. I learned to never give up!
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
There is still an HBC, but it is not a trading post, it is a store.
