Flin Flon Smokestack
This project tells about the 10th tallest structure in Canada, the Flin Flon Smokestack. I explain why, how, and when it was built, as well as, how it has changed.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
I learned that near the top of the Smokestack there is a curve caused by the slip form shifting out of place. Now that I know that I can see it when I look at the Smokestack at a certain angle.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
I have learned that history is all around us and every place has a story to share with others.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
The Smokestack was built in 1973-1974 so things haven't changed that much. However, the Smokestack would cost much more if you built it today.
