Canadians at Vimy Ridge
Remembering the Canadian corps at Vimy Ridge. April 9, 2017 will mark the 100th anniversary of Canadians taking Vimy Ridge.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
About how they were planning and the preparation to take Vimy Ridge - building a fake model of Vimy Ridge behind the allied lines. Our troops hid in tunnels before the attack and there were water lines and lights in the tunnel.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
I learned even more about the those who sacrificed everything for our freedom.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
My life today is extremely easy compared to the soldiers of the First World War.
