Canadian Pacific Railway

The project goes through a small portion of the Canadian Pacific Railway's history and talks about how the railway changed Canada.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing I learned is how my community may not have even existed without the influence of CP Rail. People actually started moving here to build and a city of over 60,000 has resulted.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have learned not to take CP Rail for granted. Canada would be a very different place without it. Some cities wouldn't exist and may not have the cultural diversity that they do.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Life today is a lot easier. Especially if you were one of the railway workers. Their everyday jobs were extremely dangerous and there are not many jobs like that today.
