Canada and WW2

It's about Canada's role in WW2.   Canada Declares WAr, The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, Permanent Joint Board on Defence, Pearl Harbour attacks, The United Nations Declaration, The battle in Dieppe, The Quadrant Conference, Operation Husky, Juno Beach D-Day, the Liberation of Holland, VE day, ZEEP, The effect of WW2 on Canada.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Canada just got it's independence from Britain when WW2 began. Canada was not well known, but through our contribution to WW2, Canada gained the respect of the world.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

Canada played an important role in WW2. We grew as a country because of the war. We became more racially tolerant and developed civil rights. We were underestimated but proved ourselves to the world.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

I feel my life is a lot safer, because we have not had air raids, or rations. We have more opportunities. We get a good education and health care. Human rights are better, there is more equality now.
