Pioneer Food

My video is on Pioneer Food. Pioneers needed to dry meat and fruit.  They had to work very hard to make meals and survive.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I learned that the most important meat was pork. People also had to grow a lot of their own food and dry their meat or fish. They made bread in outside ovens and made butter by using a butter churn. Things were tough back then.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

Pioneers had harder live's than today. People back then had to live in sod huts or cabins when they first came to Canada. And I learned how to use iMovie and to how to do stop-motion.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

I would not like to do all that work. It would be so different than it is now. Back then I would probably have to milk a cow and do lots of chores on the family farm. Now I just go home and relax and maybe watch a movie. Life is easier now.
