Modern day new interview with Sir Isaac Brock.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Sir Isaac Brook did not have an extensive formal education, however he appreciated its importance. It’s reported that as an adult he often spent his leisure time alone, reading books to improve his education.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

His military actions in the War of 1812, particularly his success at Detroit, earned him a knighthood, membership in the Order of Bath, accolades and the sobriquet “Hero of Upper Canada.” The last pronouncement of the brilliant military strategist is said to have been “Surgite!” — Latin for “Push on!” — which is Brock University’s motto.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

All things in life are achievable; you have to set goals, a strategy/plan and be disciplined in the execution.
