Gold mining in Mount Uniacke it started June 18th, 1865 to 1960 and it's a big part of Mount Uniacke heritage.

 

 

 

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

How Mount Uniacke became a community and how gold mining was done back then. Also the types of rocks that you can find gold in.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

How a gold mining community can go from booming to deserted in a short period of time.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

It has changed a lot, because its larger and there is more in the community than there was back then. We have a lot more technology now than back in the 1800s.
