History of Radio in Canada

My Great great grandpa worked for Marconi and he sent the first radio broadcast across Canada. Marconi was an Italian inventor who thought that sound waves could travel around the world from one continent to another, this started radio in Canada.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I didn't know my great grandpa was involved in the first broadcast. It is neat how radios were once really big using tubes and now they are small chips to transmit sound and video.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

That change of technology from the early 1900s to now is amazing and it will keep changing.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My great grandpa used morse code to talk to people on ships and now everyone carries a cell phone around.
