My Pioneer Ancestors

My project is about my Chinese great-great grandfather, and my First Nations great-great grandmother.  I learned about their lives in Fort Steele, BC.  They owned a supply store and a horse pack train.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

My grandma lived in a house that is different from the house I live in now. I have interesting ancestors. I learned a lot about that.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

That Canadian people come from lots of different places. I don't look like my great great grandparents, but they are my ancestors. Life was harder back then.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

It was different. Medicine was different. My life is maybe easier now.
