The C.P.R. built one tie at a time
The first prime minister promises that the C.P.R. will be built. Many Chinese people are hired to build the railway under hard circumstances.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
The most interesting part I find, is when the Chinese build the railway. Making the rebellion start. So the Canadian soldiers fight the Métis.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
The Chinese built the C.P.R. because there was a drought in China and 4,000 Chinese were killed building the C.P.R. The Métis rebellion was started because of the C.P.R.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
My is life a lot easier. I don't need to work as hard. I'm not desperate for money or food.
