The Klondike Gold Rush

My project lets you know about the journey that people took when they went to the Klondike region in the Yukon, and what they did when they got there. I also describe some interesting stories that took place within the Klondike gold rush.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I think it's amazing how many people put their lives on the line just to go on a massive journey to find gold. It could have even been just a rumor that there was gold — of course it wasn't, though!

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I think that is extremely important to believe in yourself. You can accomplish anything if you believe in yourself, even finding gold! ;)

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

I am actually from Virginia, which is in the U.S.A. I moved to Canada from America, just like the prospectors traveled from different places, some of them America, to get to Canada. The difference would be that I got to travel in a car, but the prospectors traveled by either boat or walking or by both.
