The Jolly Jumper

The Jolly Jumper is a Canadian invention appreciated all around the world by busy moms and squirmy babies. It has its roots in First Nations culture.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The Jolly Jumper was a simple invention that solved a big problem for busy parents. Often good ideas come out of frustrating situations, from everyday people.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

A good invention is often a simple idea that solves a common problem. It is important that we aknowledge and encourage Canadians to keep inventing!

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My sister used the Jolly Jumper just a few months ago. It is basically the same model Olivia Poole designed. I think my Mom was just as happy it worked as Mrs. Poole!
