Canada's Untold Stories: Residential Schools

My project tells a little history of when and where Residential Schools took place. I interviewed some family members that were involved in Residential School.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The fact that all of the children that attended Residential School that are still alive today tell all of these stories no one has asked them about, and knowing what my people have gone through.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

That many First Nations families were effected and that the impacts and still present.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My life today, compared to what those children experienced is very easy, and free. Those children were robbed of their childhood. I am very fortunate that I never have to go through their abuse.
