How did you choose a topic for your Heritage Fair project? Where did you begin the research process? What would you tell other kids who are just starting to work on their projects?

On December 4, 2018, Canada’s History hosted a live Heritage Fairs Chat that addressed some of these questions. We talked to the experts themselves — the 2018 Young Citizens — to hear their tips, tricks, and advice for creating a winning Heritage Fair project.

In this chat, the Young Citizens discussed their experiences in participating in the Heritage Fairs program. They reflected on the similarities and differences in how they approached their research projects. They also answer questions from the audience.
