Across Canada, community organizations are making significant efforts to preserve and share their local stories. From exhibits and civic engagement events to oral histories and preservation projects, these initiatives bring communities together in new and exciting ways.

Each year, the award honours two innovative programs or initiatives that commemorate unique aspects of our heritage and encourage greater public interest in the past. Recipients receive a cash prize of $2,500 each and a trip for two to attend the award ceremony in a major city.

Deadline to submit applications is July 15, 2024.
