In addition to the Governor General History Awards ceremony, we are thrilled to invite you to the Canada’s History Forum, The Next Chapter: Facing the Future, Together. Join us as this year’s GGHA recipient teachers, historians, authors, and community members come together to highlight their award-winning work and reflect on the future of Canadian history.
The Canada’s History Forum runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at the Crystal Ballroom of the Fairmont Empress Hotel, 721 Government Street, Victoria, BC V8W 1W5.
The awards ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at Government House, 1401 Rockland Avenue, Victoria, V8S 1V9. Guests are expected to arrive at 4:30 p.m.
