Canada’s History will be hosting a national meeting of history educators from July 12-15 in Ottawa / Gatineau. The purpose of this meeting is to explore and design national-level programming for history teachers, students and heritage organizations. Invited attendees include representatives of provincial / territorial social studies teacher’s associations and representatives of national museums and public history / educational organizations.
Canada’s History has funding to pay for the travel and accommodations for approximately five (5) past recipients of the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching to attend the meeting. Past recipients interested in attending this meeting should complete the Expression of Interest form below.
Please note: We expect a high demand for past recipients to attend this meeting, but we can only provide funding for five (5) individuals to attend. Canada’s History will review the Expression of Interest responses and select the representatives to attend. Completion of the Expression of Interest form does not guarantee a space to attend. Attendees must be active teachers with an interest in collaborating on national-level programming.
