Prize Description
Total estimated value of the prize package is $4,000

Terms and Conditions
- The prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein including, without limitation, travel costs to and from their home to one of the major city airports listed, alcoholic beverages and incidentals, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls, insurance, together with any travel documentation, and all personal expenses of any kind or nature.
- The prize is nonnegotiable and nontransferable.
- No change in travel arrangements can be made once the booking has been confirmed.
- The participant agrees that under no circumstances will he or she be permitted to obtain awards, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
Entry Information
- All official entries received by the contest deadline (per subscription order). For non-subscription purchase option, complete the official entry form. For mail-in option, click on official entry form, fill in the fields, print and mail entry to the address below.
- Entries are automatically processed for all new subscribers, active subscribers, renewing subscribers and to those donors who purchase gift subscriptions for others. If you do not wish to be entered, or do not intend to comply with the terms and conditions, please notify Member Services at the time of placing your order
- Entry deadline is midnight CST, August 15, 2011.
- Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of entries received.
- The winner will be selected on August 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. (CST), by a random draw of all eligible entries received by Canada's National History Society, publisher of Canada’s History magazine, whose decisions are final. No responsibility is assumed for delayed, lost, stolen, or misdirected entries. Contest entries are void if incomplete, not legible, or if they contain errors.
- By entering this contest, you agree that any information you send to Canada’s History becomes the property of Canada's National History Society and Canada’s History, and should you win, your name may be posted and/or published.
- Only one winning entry will be drawn. The winner will be notified via phone/email within 2 days of the draw. The winner has 5 days from receipt to respond answer a mathematical skill-testing question and confirm the acceptance of the prize. If the initial winner does not respond within this period or declines the prize, then a second draw will be held. If necessary, subsequent draws will be held until there is a confirmed winner.
- Contest is open to all Canadian residents over 18 years of age, except those who are employees, immediate family or anyone residing with an employee of Canada's History, Kayak Magazine, Canada’s History Magazine, and Rail Travel Tours and VIA Rail. Subject to all applicable laws. Void where prohibited.
- For residents of Quebec – Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a price may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
