Jonathan Lainey is a proud member of the Huron-Wendat Nation of Wendake and Curator, First Peoples, at the Canadian Museum of History. His research interests focus on the social, political and cultural history of Aboriginal peoples of Quebec and Canada, as well as on material culture and its interpretation. Jonathan is recognized for his knowledge of the heritage and material culture of Aboriginal peoples, most notably the wampum and the Huron-Wendat. He has written some forty publications and scientific papers, and is the author of the authoritative book “La « monnaie des Sauvages » : Les colliers de wampum d’hier à aujourd’hui” (Septentrion, 2004). Jonathan Lainey studied Anthropology and Native Studies, and holds a Master’s Degree in History from Université Laval.
