What are Stamp Stories?
Top 25 Stamps of 2011
As a warm-up to the Heritage Fairs, Stamp Stories is our heritage stamp design contest that kids can enter. The top 25 entries are posted on our website.
A stamp design can be anything that they want it to be as long as it has a Canadian history or heritage theme. It might be an old building or landmark, one of their ancestors, a landscape, an animal, their favourite Canadian hero, an important historical event — anything that means something special to them.
How to Enter
Draw the stamp design in the space provided on the entry form.
Entrants can use coloured pencils, felt pens, paints, paper cutouts, or can create their design on the computer! Remember to use strong colours and solid lines.
The contest is open to students in grades 4 to 9. Kids can enter as often as they like! Entries must be received by March 30, 2012. [To enter your class in next year's contest, bookmark this page for updates, or sign up for ourTeaching Canada's History e-newsletter (for elementary school).]
Have fun and good luck!
