The Vimy Pilgrimage Award recognizes the actions of young people who demonstrate a commitment to volunteer work through outstanding service, positive contributions, notable deeds, and bravery. Their acts may have served their peers, school, community, province, or country. Scholastic achievement is not a criterion for this award.
Essay Portion & Motivation Letter
For the ESSAY portion (500 words) of your application, propose a question* on the theme of Canada and the First World War, to add to the current Canadian Citizenship exam. Explain why your question and answer are important for new Canadians to know. (*The question you propose cannot be about the Battle of Vimy Ridge.)
For the MOTIVATION LETTER (500 words), describe the ways in which you demonstrate outstanding civic service (please include details of your volunteer work, positive contributions, notable deeds, etc.).
Note: Please write, edit and save your letter elsewhere before submitting it. When you are ready to submit your letter simply copy and paste it into the essay space provided. Every field is mandatory. This information will not be used for any purpose other than to administrate this contest.
