Antony Caruso's approach to Canadian history fuses critical thinking with a healthy dose of drama. His Red River Spy Mission assignment challenges students to critically engage in a controversial issue in Canadian history by acting as spies for John A. MacDonald's government to report on Louis Riel's Métis government. It is evident from his students' work that Mr. Caruso inspires and motivates his students to go beyond the conventional, getting as equally involved and invested in their learning as he is.
