Before joining the History Society in 2002, Deborah Morrison served as the founding director of operations for the Historica Foundation of Canada (1999–2002.) Prior to that, she worked with The CRB Foundation — Heritage Project, coordinating its launch of the well–known Heritage Minutes, and developing many of their educational and outreach programs including the Heritage Fairs program.
Ms. Morrison earned a BA in Political Science (Carleton University 1986) and an MBA Executive (Concordia University 1998). Among many professional activities, she is presently a corporate director for Versent Corporation (LaserQuest) and Alumnae President and member of the board of Governors for Balmoral Hall School.

Linda Onofreychuk joined the History Society in 2004. She brings to the Society several years experience as an Executive Assistant. Previous employment at the Winnipeg Library Foundation has also provided Linda with expertise in fund development and event planning. Prior to her working for not–for–profit organizations she held a position in the Public Affairs Department for Canada Safeway Limited. Working in these types of environments has engaged Linda in providing many volunteer hours with various groups.

Patricia Gerow obtained her Certified Management Accountant designation in 2000. Prior to joining the History Society, she worked in a variety of industries including transportation, warehousing, agriculture, construction and property insurance. She also serves as Treasurer for the Prairie West Area of Girl Guides of Canada and is the past Treasurer for the Manitoba Provincial Rifle Association (1989 to 2003).

Danielle joined the History Society in 2001 as a Member Services Representative, following a sixteen–year career in banking. Since that time, the Society has gone through significant changes, most notably the conversion of its circulation department and the launch of Kayak magazine. As Marketing Coordinator, Danielle supervises the fulfillment services, while also assisting with both fundraising and subscription campaigns. In addition to the Society's fundraising activities, she has also done volunteer work for the Manitoba Lung Association and the Manitoba Kidney Foundation.

Pat started with the History Society in 2004 in our Member Services department. In 2008, she moved to the Web department to assist the Web Editor in website publishing, game/quiz production, and commercial affiliate relationships. Recently she has taken Web Design, Flash and hopes to continue into other similar courses at Red River College. Pat excelled in the accounting field within a broad spectrum of industry manufacturing, wholesale, retail, agriculture and government. On her personal time, Pat also volunteers, supports, and fundraises for a number of other charitable organizations, including the Winnipeg Humane Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Society, United Way and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Formerly the assistant news editor at CanWest News Service in Winnipeg, Mark is a graduate of both Dalhousie University and the University of King's College with extensive experience as a journalist and editor in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Alberta, and Manitoba. His editorial background includes co–ordinating and executing national news coverage for CanWest's 11 major dailies; overseeing the development and launch of the University of Calgary's award–winning weekly newspaper; and editing OnCampus Quarterly magazine.

Most recently a senior copy editor at CanWest News Service in Winnipeg, Ms. Oosterom also worked at CBC Radio in Manitoba and the Canadian Press national news service in both Manitoba and Newfoundland, where she held key reporting and editing positions–most notably, serving as CP's Winnipeg Bureau Chief. A graduate of Niagara College's journalism program, Ms. Oosterom began her reporting career at the Thunder Bay Chronicle–Journal. She also attended the University of Manitoba, where she majored in political science and history.

With over twenty years of experience in magazine design, Michel Groleau has worked on such titles as Commerce, Montreal Magazine, InfoPresse, Affaires Plus, Croc and Le Trente. He has been nominated twice for the Canadian Newstand award. Mr. Groleau began as art director for The Beaver in January 2005. On weekends, you can find him on his sailboat on Lake Champlain.

Phil coordinates the Currents and Reviews sections of Canada’s History magazine as well as online news and books coverage. An editor, writer, and part-time graduate student, he has worked on several arts and culture magazines and journals, including co-founding and co-editing the culture magazine Tart. Phil was a copy editor with the Canwest News Service and served in several capacities with the Canadian university student press, winning the 2006 Canadian Association of University Teachers Award for Excellence in Education Journalism.

A graduate from the University of Manitoba with a B.F.A., Bev has worked in many spheres of the creative arts and communications. After university she spent several years as a painter with her work shown in several major exhibitions. She was awarded, among others, The Manitoba Society of Artist’s Lynn Sisson Watercolour Award, The Denise Chivers Memorial Award and the Red River Ex. Art Award. Formerly with the Western Canada Aviation Museum she served as Editor and writer of their quarterly magazine @ltitude, contributing her skills as photo researcher, photographer, graphic artist, and webmaster. She has been a writer, assistant editor, and contributor to many other publications, television, and movie productions.

Nancy Payne received both her Bachelor and Master of Journalism from Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario. Ms. Payne brings to our team extensive experience in writing for young readers, most recently as editor of the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s publications WILD and Canadian Wildlife/Biosphère.

James Gillespie joined Canada's History in 2009 as Web Designer. He became the Art Director for Kayak in December 2010, but still maintains his role in New Media projects.

Joel Ralph, B.A. (Hon.), is a graduate of History from Queen’s University and the Master’s in Public History program at the University of Western Ontario (2006). As part of his undergraduate degree he traveled to Herstmonceux Castle in the United Kingdom, where he trained at the International Study Centre. Joel has always worked closely with young people through community programs, sports, and theatre to create interesting and engaging projects. His first published article, Vimy Revisited, appeared in the April/May 2007 issue of The Beaver.

Tanja Hutter graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.A. (Adv.), specializing in International Relations and German. Her more noteworthy accomplishments include Associate Editor of the Encyclopedia of Natural Health (a 1998 Benjamin Franklin Award winner) and Editor of the online art portal Artstar.com, a dynamic mega-website with sophisticated e-commerce functionality, devoted to everything art: history, biography, services, publications, auctions and sales. Tanja has also had articles published in various magazines.

Jean-Philippe joined Canada's History in 2010. After completing a B.A. (History) in 2000 at Laval University, he obtained two diplomas in art history and education before finishing in a Master's in architecture history in 2004 (also at Laval). Over the past few years he has worked for the Conseil du patrimoine religieux du Québec, the Historica foundation and the University of Montreal. His experience with these organization has been in the areas of research, event planning and program coordination.

Joanna Dawson began with the Society in August 2011.

Andrew Workman began with the Society in early 2011.
